Autumn Japan: juicy colors and bright tastes

Autumn Japan: juicy colors and bright tastes

Why it's worth going to Japan with Skyship Adventure

Individual tour to Japan

Japan, as you know, is a clock country, a calendar country. The whole life is clearly painted according to the seasons. Four main and without counting poetic. Cherry and plum blossom seasons, the season of young strawberries and yuzu, the season of puffer and saury. Those Japanese who are fond of writing haiku always carry a reference book of seasonal words with them.

Detailed descriptions in the triplet will not fit, but you can designate the time of year, month and mood in one word, for example, “wind”, “persimmon” or “grapes” — and the reader will immediately imagine the picture in its entirety, with all the flavors, with all the emotions associated with this season.

If spring is the season of tenderness and hope, then autumn is the season of exuberant colors and reflections on the beauty of withering. The main occupation of the autumn months is admiring the red maples. The Japanese call their autumn trips and walks momiji-gari, which translates as “hunting for red leaves.”

Unlike the fleeting sakura season, momiji-gari lasts for several weeks. On the northernmost island, Hokkaido, the red maple season begins in September, the red wave reaches Kyoto and Tokyo by October, and on the southernmost island of Kyushu, red maples can be found in November.

On the map, Japan seems to be a miniature country, but in fact, it is absolutely impossible to see all its wonders in one trip. It is impossible to do this, even after living here all my life.

Any trip to Japan is like a kaleidoscope: the pattern of impressions is never repeated. And even we do not undertake to predict what kind of ornament your memories of Japan will form, but we promise that it will be a work of rare beauty.

But in general, the ideal scenario for traveling in Japan is to drive slowly across the country from north to south (or vice versa, why not), enjoying all the autumn rituals, learning new cities and national parks, discovering new layers of Japanese culture.
