Mexico City interior designer Pauline Moran is responsible for the artistic, casual atmosphere, decorating the main hub—a restored 19th-century hacienda—with antique tiles, contemporary art and pops of color. Crumbling arches, twisting tree roots and Parot trees festooned with lanterns add a magical dimension to strolls through the gardens - especially at night when the fireflies twinkle.
Forty free-standing villas, surrounded by giant palms, ferns and shrubs, begin to introduce you to Mayan culture and its history. Finished in cool creamy limestone and sleek dark wood, each room features a walk-in closet, living room and outdoor patio with a private pool, hammock and dining table. Mornings begin with breakfast delivered to your terrace: coffee/tea, freshly baked Mexican pastries and fruit salad. Led by Jorge Vellejo, Ixi`im serves modern Yucatan cuisine in a sophisticated setting in the lush jungle of the expansive Chable area. Exquisite menu of the Ixi`im restaurant, designed by Jorge Vallejo and Luis Ronsonom, showcases an innovative combination of Mexican and local influences, blending fresh herbs, fruits and vegetables harvested from the resort s garden. The restaurant also features the world s largest collection of tequila, innovative cocktails and a unique wine list.
Ki`ol Restaurant serves hearty and healthy breakfasts, ceviche, Mexican toast and light snacks with nutritious ingredients in a relaxed atmosphere. some of the dishes that can be enjoyed while sunbathing by the pool.
The heart of the resort, the cenote, reveals the culmination of the natural beauty of the place. Situated at the foot of the cenote, accessible by stairs, the wide wooden deck hosts daily meditation and yoga classes. The Herbalist recreates an old apothecary where therapists can mix spices and herbs needed for spa treatments inspired by the healers ancestral culture.
