The estate of the Ferragamo family — the one whose patriarch is Salvatore Ferragamo — is not even a hotel, but a whole small principality with a village, vineyards, winery, pastures, craft shops, restaurants, olive groves and a villa of the XIX century.

If you decide to stay here, your room can be a whole house in the village or a room in a villa with incredibly beautiful antique furniture and silk wallpaper in the Chinoiserie style. The family members themselves, Senor Ferragamo and his sons, also have a nice little house here: the one that belongs to the patriarch is located right next to the main villa of the estate, behind a fence covered with wisteria. The family also owns two detached villas that need to be reached by car — one in the middle of a vineyard, the other on a hill with a phenomenal view of the valley.
Just a few kilometers from the estate is the very bridge that can be seen behind the back of the Gioconda in the famous painting. I must say that the landscapes that open from the windows of the rooms are very similar to the one depicted in the Da Vinci painting — the same slightly gloomy colors, the same fog.
Although there are no locals in the village anymore (there were once!), quite real jewelers, shoemakers and artists keep shops here: you should definitely visit them before dinner, as an aperitif — somewhere, perhaps, you will be treated to prosecco. After talking with the masters and buying something for the mood, you can go to dinner at Il Borro. This Tuscan bistro is a special pride of the hotel: the local chef Andrea Campani is absolutely amazing at cooking all kinds of meat that Tuscany is famous for — chianina, rabbit, wild boar.
The nearest city, Arezzo, is only 20 kilometers from Il Borro, Florence and Siena are an hour away from here, so this is an excellent base for traveling around the region. This is a look not from the hustle and bustle of the city, but from a painting: this is the only way to look at Tuscany.
