Villa Cora was built at the end of the XIX century by order of Baron Oppenheim, and since then has always been considered one of the most beautiful mansions in Florence: agree, in a city where there is so much beauty, such a definition is expensive.

These walls remember the visits of Empress Eugenia, the wife of Napoleon III, and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, who, as is known, wrote almost entirely The Queen of Spades in Florence.
The composer lived in a villa nearby, on Via San Leonardo, and visited his good friend and patroness Baroness von Meck, who then occupied the villa. The hotel first opened here in the 1960s.
The villa, standing on the high bank of the Arno River, is surrounded by gardens: very close are the small Bobolino and Tivoli gardens, a little further away is the famous Boboli Garden. And the territory of the villa itself is surrounded by greenery: you live like in a resort, although the center of Florence is just around the corner.
The interiors of the hotel are truly royal, but without frills. Painted ceilings — but solid walls in pastel colors; modern details are perfectly combined with tapestry curtains and velvet canopies.
The cuisine of the charming chef Alessandro Liberatore is Tuscan products from the best farmers in a virtuoso modern interpretation: ravioli with foie gras, piglet cooked in three different ways with cream of purple potatoes, Calvanian bull meat with artichokes, beans and hazelnuts — pure luxury on a plate.
Among other things, Villa Cora is considered one of the best spa hotels in Florence.
